Common Name- Australian Pelican
Scientific Name- Pelicanus conspicillatus

Location- Albany, W.A

Post Production- RAW adjustments in DPP4, custom curves, levels adjustment, contrast, saturation, resize and sharpening.

Notes- I was at the bank of the Kalgan River on Sunday where I spotted a Pelican swimming around scooping up river prawns. The Pelican scooped up about 10 prawns all up and I was able to get a few nice shots of this feeding behaviour. I’m unsure whether the prawns were discarded bait floating down the river (it’s a popular spot for fishing) or fresh prawns, as we do get live prawns in the tidal river systems. I shot this on my Canon 100-400mm L II.
