Male Scarlet Robins have black heads and are black above, with a white frons and wing bars. They have a bright red-orange breast patch which fades to white below the belly. Females are grey-brown above with a white frons and wing bars and have a washed out red-orange breast patch

Often found in pairs, sits on prominent perches from which it flies to capture invertebrates.
