I haven't got a decent pic of any cuckoos, a family that has very successfully avoided my lense.

I don't see cuckoos very often, so this is one of the very few images of one I do have.

    Default Fantailed juvenile

This is the only decent cuckoo shot I have. It was posted in the forum not so long ago, so if that is cheating, Paul, just take it down.Click image for larger version.

    Default Koel

    Eudynamys scolopaceus
A Red Wattlebird started chasing this lady on the other side of Parramatta River and they both flew to my side. I wish Wattlebird was in the frame but only head was in the corner of the un-cropped photo. I am still happy as a flying a Koel photo is not very common.

    Default Common Koel (Eudynamys scolopacea)

A male this time, big crop taken across a lagoon, no chance to get closer, feeding on what I think is Sago Palm at the Palmetum, Townsville back in Oct 2010.

Another Shining Bronze-cuckoo, first time I'd photographed this species and one that I've been after for a while. Tricky rainforest conditions, but pretty happy to at last get an image of one!

A couple of years ago I was fortunate to find a young Horsfield's Bronze-cuckoo calling desperately for its parents, so I waited for a few minutes and was rewarded with some images of the foster parents, Shy Heathwren coming in to feed it.
