Default Another call out for "real user" names

Since we last encouraged members to change their user names to there real names we have had quite a few members change and the site, we feel, has become an even friendlier community.
You are quite welcome to keep a nickname in your user title (for example, mine would be Paul "Pablo" Randall) if you like so please give it some thought if you are still using an alias or webname.

If you feel you would like to change your user name then simply PM one of our admins and we will "make it so".
You can also ask to have it changed in this thread if you like but remember that you will have a new user name next time you log in (I still sometimes type in my old user name and wonder why its not working)

We will not be forcing people to use their real names at any time in the foreseeable future so feel free to leave it as is if you like. Just thought I'd give users another opportunity.

    Paul

It should be compulsory for new members at least.

There's no real way to force people to use their real names.

Yeah some newer members may like to stay incognito so therefore I feel it unwise to try and implement this approach. Mike

We're not trying to enforce it at all guys. Just encouraging people to change if they would like to.

The model powerboat association's forum won't let people register without using their real names. So there must be a way.

If people are happy to use a web name then thats fine. Whatever they feel comfortable with is fine by us...we were just putting the call out again for anyone who wanted to change

Some people are never going to feel comfortable or secure using their real names and will prefer to use an alias on the internet, so we certainly won't be forcing anyone to adopt their real names. However if they feel comfortable doing so, then it does create a forum with a more personal feel to it. So we are simply encouraging people at least consider this option.

Something for those who use aliases for their usernames to consider, is that if they wish to develop their photography to a serious level, publishers and customers will most likely want to deal with someone with a real name.

On one of my fishing forums, members will not give out any tips or help unless a real name is given. The site doesn't seem to have suffered by making that a rule.
The voices in my head may not be real, but they come up with some great ideas..

    Cheers Rev.
