    Default WEEKLY THEME GALLERY 20/2/11 "PANORAMAS"

    A bit of discussion about panoramic compositions this week so I thought we'd try it as a theme. They are very effective when done right and some situations seem to dictate their use. Often, birds looking out into their habitats can make good pano images. Not sure if the image below works as one, have a look through your files and see what you can come up with. Good luck 8-) Paul

    Brown Falcon (Falco berigora)
    20/2/11 (yes, this morning ) Point Wilson, VIC

    Canon 5D 600mm f4 L (non IS) iso 200 1/1600th f5.6 CW metering at +0 handheld out car window
    Photoshop- slight sharpen, burnt in the fence posts a little, tiny clone out of offending grass stem

    Thought this one may fit the theme, little Red-capped Plover
    pretty much flat out.

    I thought this image might be OK for a panorama shot. Taken at Wilsons
    Promontory National Park Vic last weekend. Banded Pacific Gull with Norman Island in BG.

    Sacred Kingfisher taken at Old Settlement Beach, Lord Howe Island last year. The Lagoon
    and Blackburn Island in the BG. Colours are completely natural.
