Default WEEKLY THEME GALLERY 13/2/11 "HEADS DOWN"

Well we missed a week with the forum being down and the name change etc. What a week it has been too, the site is running at a very high rate with so many posts coming up it is getting hard to keep track of things. Well done to all members for taking to the new site and new changes with gusto.

The last gallery theme was "Peekaboo" with a lot of images of birds heads peaking out from foliage so I thought we might try the other way round this week. Most of us have an image of a bird that is missing its head for one reason or another so have a look through your archives and see how you go.

I'll have to have a better dig through my folders to try and find an image with a little more bird in it For those who are curious, this is a pacific gull, or at least some of the primary feathers of a pacific gull It had dived into the water in pursuit of a morsel dropped by a silver gull. Unfortunately, most bird images that I capture where you can't see the head, I end up deleting... for some strange reason  Who would have thought I'd ever need them!

Here is a Charactor that was a delight to photograph.
But for this frame decided to drop the head nearly out of frame.

Figbird, The palm is just off my back deck and had a few red berries still on it after Yasis' big blow. The Figbirds and Koels (some Figbirds feeding Koels) did not take long to find them the day after.

Not too sure on this theme as to whether we're supposed to have heads missing from the shot, or heads pointing down :P But in any case, I've done a head missing, so here's one facing down. A willie wagtail checking out his feet
