Default WEEKLY THEME GALLERY 30/1/11 "PEEKABOO SHOTS"

Some really interesting shots in last weeks gallery, good work from all contributors
This week I want to see everybodys "Peekaboo" shots. Maybe its a shot of a bird trying to be camouflage or a bird peering up over a ledge or through some leaves. Look forward to seeing your shots

I didn't realize Agapanthus were a prolific nectar yeilding plant until a few weeks back.
Lots of New Holland Honeyeaters feeding on them at Gipsy Point Vic, mostly hiding behind
    the flower heads.

    Superb Fruit-Dove

He could see me and this was the best I could do, he would not move until a Channle-billed Cuckoo chased him away....

I guess it was me doing the peeking here, trying to see him sitting quietly minding his own business. White-winged Fairy-wren.

Captured this one the other day and whilst not a great shot, I thought it interesting. A bit of peek-a-boo as it popped up whilst it was dabbling head down for food... or, what happens when I go 'duck-riding'..... snap, there goes another one!!!

A figbird from Cooktown. I really liked the head amongst the ferns.

An image of a Stint I took winter last year. It's the closest image I have that fits the criteria.

Trying to creep up on these Galahs which were on the other side of a mini dune. She spotted me hence the raised crest.

Was photographing this Yellow-plumed Honeyeater at the Stirling Ranges when he stuck his head round these leaves to check on me.

Travelling back to Port from Griffith a few months ago for work, stopped for lunch just outside Condobolin. A lignum bush beside the car appeared to be home for a family of these. I was hoping they may have popped up out of the bush but no, they remained deeply buried. I tried to get a few different images of these birds at home.
