Default WEEKLY THEME GALLERY 16/1/11 "MUD, MUD, MUD"

Lets here a big cheer for the return of the "WEEKLY THEME GALLERY"
Look forward to another year of cool themes and even cooler contributions. A reminder too, all images posted here count towards your two image post per day limit so keep that in mind. That means if you post one image here then you only have one more image post left to upload before you have to wait another 24 hours
We'll see a few different themes this year but most of them will be similar to last years ones.

Remember to post your comments in the discussion page too.

This time around we are looking for images that have mud in them (and birds of course), though if you have an image of yourself covered in mud after a birding session then I will bend the rules a bit and let you post that too.

Heres an image of two muddy Tree Martins collecting mud for their nests. Enjoy

I was up my local Water Works Gully (1/1/2011) watching these Gang Gang feeding, when they dropped down to a Mud Pool in the road and took a drink, then went back to feeding in the tree. They were only 5 meters from the creek with nice fresh mountain water, but went for the mud.

One of my favourite shorebird images of a Red-capped Plover I took back in march last year.
