Scarlet Honeyeater (Myzomela sanguinolenta) at Noosa on 30th June, 2009. The buggers wouldn't keep still, so I don't have a reasonable shot to post.

Edit Forgot to add, "great idea for a new thread, Grant".
    Cheers,

181 i think, all hunter birds though except for about 10. I know i have seen many more than this but do not know what they are , will only tick a bird when i am confident thats what i saw.

last one was Regent Honeyeater, will have to check the date.

362 I think, last one was a Yellow-tufted Honeyeater a month ago. A shot of the bird is here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/callocephalon/3754738964/). Hoping for some ticks this weekend.

Life List - 464 - Alberts Lyrebird, Mt Tamborine, Qld, 05 September 2009.
    Pic here

Big edit - I accidentally included my NZ birds in my life list - so I've had to knock 10 off.

Finally updated the year list tally - 290 as at 20/9/09
    Aus Life List: 508 - Grey-backed Storm-petrel, Sydney Pelagic, 13/8/11

    Total as at 22nd August 2009 = 546

Last bird seen - Light-mantled Sooty Albatross of Eden. Not a good photo.
Sorry to pip you David, but when are you going to come down to Eden again for another pelagic ...there's one on next Sunday :-)

I am very tempted Marlene!! Especially if you can promise me a Lightly-mantled Sooty next May!!
Didn't get any new ticks yesterday on the Wollongong trip which is especially disappointing now that i have seen you are one ahead of me on 546 species

Does anyone count sub-species as seperate ticks? I usually only count SilverEyes as a single tick, but I know I've seen 2 different sub-species in the past few months.

David. I'll try and organise a L-m Sooty next May for you, but I'm hoping the high winds we are experiencing in Victoria today and expected for the next few days blows up a Grey-headed or Sooty Alby.....last 2 to get according to C&B.
I may have to come up to W'gong for a pelagic as you tend to get far more petrel species up there than we do off Eden.
    All the best
    Marlene.

So far 235. Though I've removed many that were recorded when I was a youngster and I'm now uncertain of some of them.

Most recent was probably Redthroat - Pyrrholaemus brunneus on the 16th July 2009.

...and a dodgy photo of the sighting.

I record the sighting, but not as a tick. If/when it gets split out, then you get a free tick, or an armchair tick or something like that...
