Default WEEKLY THEME GALLERY 12/9/10 "BIRDS AND CARS"

Was great to hear about all of your local patches last week. Sounds like we all have varying habitats and species at our back doors.
This week it is all about "Birds and Cars". Show us an image taken from your car window, an image of a bird on a car or even a shot taken on your favourite road trip. Tell us about the car you drive, the car you wished you drove or something to do with birds and cars.

This image was taken out of my car window the other day. I currently drive a little 4WD Subaru hatchback which suits my needs pretty well most days.
My dream car??........well just check my latest avatar for the answer to that

This is one of the cheeky White-browed Scrubwrens (Sericornis frontalis) from the WTP. George & Paul would know these guys well.

As soon as you arrive at the birdhide they pick the car clean of insects. This individual found his way inside my vehicle but was in a panic when I came out of the birdhide and could not find his way out of the car. Concerned for his safety I quickly opened the tailgate to let him out and only got the chance to fire off 3 frames before he bolted to freedom.

Although this car is an old Honda Accord station wagon. I drive a Subaru Forester and love it. Though i do miss my fully decked out Toyota Troopcarrier that I had on a 2 year round Australia trip 2000-2001.

Just a record shot. Full frame & only PP was a smartsharpen in PS.
    Cheers,
    Geoff

I'm not sure I have many images taken from my car. This is the most recent one I can think of, just a Willie Wagtail, but I like 'em.

I drive an older 6th gen Celica that's in desperate need of new paint. It's my wife's car really and is far too small for us, but at least it gets us around. Dream car? Realistically, I'd be happy with a Forester, but if the skies the limit then I'd aim really high and say the McLaren F1, still the best supercar ever made in my eyes.

Here is a young bird I captured while at Gluepot with Rich. This was taken from the drivers window of the Kluger.
These birds have been a hard one to get a reasonable capture of, this one will have to do till next time.
The Kluger is not yet a 1yr old, it has done a few trips so far.
The main 2 trips this year with the Kluger was Yunta and Gluepot these both have been with Rich coming with me.

Rich had some ops with birds out the window, but as you know at the time his 100-400 lens was being repaired, so birds were a tad too far off for the 100-300.

An image most have seen before, but I still consider it to be up there with the best I have taken from my good old Ford Falcon hide. Now that I know the brolgas apparently dance to the horn of a tractor, I might give it a go with the car horn

Thanks to Dave Stowe too for his PP recommendations back at the time.
