Technique- Hand held low to ground

    Attraction Aides-

Post Production- DPP, crop (about 70% original) in Ps CS6

Notes- Of all the chat species that live of visit this area I have always had great difficulty getting satisfactory shots of these. When a counted at least 56 with the odd Crimson Chat also present I thought I had the ideal opportunity. I did get a few shots of birds on a fenceline though the best were with sky as background. When feeding most could not be seen amongst the vegetation, or briefly as they past a clear spot. I had positioned myself below a bank over which swallows/martins were passing while feeding and I was again trying for some shots when this bird wandered down toward me. I did get a few closer shots but liked the background showing over the top of bank here.

Really nice Les, love the setting. We have lots around the estuary, though they are always on the move, except for a short time while breeding.

Well done Les, I've usually found this to be a hard species to get close to and only really have one keeper. Love the setting in this one.

A little noise in the background Les, but I really like this one. Bird sits nicely in the habitat and I like more space above. Nice image, Wilson

Nice sharp bird and lovely habitat Les. Well done. Hadn't really noticed the noise in the b/g but i guess you could touch it up if you wanted

She does look great in that natural environment, Les. Mine are sitting on wires. Like the eyes on these birds and your image has picked that up well. BG has been mentioned.

The stick behind the bird's back distracts just a little, but very pleased you've not taken the easy way out and photoshopped it away. Love the space around the bird, and how the area of stems leads the eye to it.
