Notes-I had a busy week workwise and family and was hankering for some time down the estuary. I watched this Little Egret walk around and eventually walked into the samphire where there had been a high tide creating pools of water in the samphire and I saw an opportunity to try something different. Hope you like.

Yes, I have the 1dx2, been saving for it for quite a while and decided as the price was right,so I purchased - I got this huge printer as a bonus (which I don't want, lol).

I recently had a go at some back-lighting with a Great Egret for something different. Nothing quite like this though! Amazing, very satisfying to get these behaviour or in-situ images, really ups the ante i reckon - congrats - Cheers Cam

    Stunning shot!
Though no disrespect here, if I'm wrong it's egg on my face, but having a hard time seeing it as a single shot as not everything is lining up.

You may just end up with egg on your face Johan. Please clarify what is not lining up? In all honesty, I would say if its a composite or if I wish to deceive I would not post here as I like to think I am transparent. I was so excited when I got this shot yesterday and never thought for a minute it looked fake.

I have a screenshot of my raw shot in DPP, as its my new 1dx2 I cannot show the raw shot as yet in CS6 - not even sure because its no longer supported by Adobe if I can download the 1dx2 file into cs6.

Lovely work Shelley. Great vision to see that the situation could deliver something special like this for you.
Congratulations on your purchase of the 1dx2. It is a fabulous piece of equipment in my opinion.

Oh I can live with egg on my face! Looking at it in the light of day what last night looked like OOF vegetation in the foreground would clearly be reflected vegetation behind and above the bird. My apologies Shelley!

Great shot, looks like it would be difficult to get everything right for this capture.

Stunning image Shelley! Did you try leaving a bit of detail in the BG? Would be interested to see that.

Wonderful image Shelley. Love that back lighting and a beautiful reflection. Love the dark background. Nicely done, Wilson

Thanks Johan, I was a bit grumpy last night as well, I seem to hate Mondays at work. I agree it looks a bit deceiving.

Think we all hate Monday's at work! Though in my case the start of the week is Saturday.
