Default WEEKLY THEME GALLERY 13/6/10 "PEOPLE AND BIRDS"

Loved the gallery of white birds last week, heaps of variety too. A bit of fun this week, would love to see a picture of you with a bird but if you can't find one then an image that has people in it will do. If you don't have either then it is your mission this week to capture an image of an Australian bird with a person in the shot. Go down to your local gull spot or lie in wait to see if the local mailman gets swooped by a Magpie

This is a shot of me with Rainbow Lorikeets on Lindeman Island when I was about 11 years old Surprisingly, I have'nt changed much...I just have facial hair now Cheers, Paul 8-)

A few years back, at Ivy Cottage tea Shop (now sadly closed) my daughter sharing her tomato sauce with a riflebird, the male would come in and un-cover the plate every time we covered it.
The Macleays and female riflebirds not so game but happy to grab what they could.

This one is of Judy trying to get up close and personal with a Pallid Cuckoo.
Taken on a wet, freezing cold Winters day at Warby Range State Park last year.
    Cheers Keith

    Me and the Powerful

I posted this photo to another section of the forum before, but I couldn't stop myself because it just fits to this theme.
So, it's me with a Powerful Owl which I found behind my workplace. Thanks to Chanty for taking the picture.

This photo was taken by a friend of mine using a mobile phone in Sydney Botanic Gardens. One of the happiest moments that I've ever had

    Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus)

This falcon unfortunately only has one wing and was being used for educational purposes at a wildlife park in Tassie (some of you would have met this bird ). Taken with my old Panasonic DMC FZ30 a couple or years ago.

I've just found one that suits this theme:
This Galah at Taronga Zoo, Sydney would take people's donation money, a real thrill for young kids.
