Default Just bought a portable fold-up hide :)

Bought it last night from the US on ebay for around $190AU, it has the 'realtree' type camo, stands about 5.2ft tall and can fit two birders (and lenses). It weighs only 14lbs and is carried like a backpack when packed up
This will be a great tool for getting photos I normally couldn't get with the advantage of being able to pre-compose a desired perch/background on location.
With the dry season now on our doorstep it time to start planning some serious birding trips across the Top End in persuit of elusive species.. Azure kingfishers and gouldian finches.. Here I come!!

    Here you go Paul

Ameristep hunting blind in tangle camo..

Just got it this morning a had a play around with it setting it up
Easy to set up and pack and it fits into a nifty little backpack.
Lens windows are available on 3 sides, plus screened windows for ventelation, Entry through zip-up door at the back.
It can easily fit two birders/tripods and even has enough room left for an esky full of coldies

Looks good, there is a bloke on the gold coast that sells something similar I am going to pick one up from him next time I am down there. I am told there is a trick to folding them up? How did you go?

You can get a hide from this supplier in Australia. There are a number of members who already use them including myself. He will post them.

There's certainly a knack to getting them to fold up properly. Once you get the hang of it, it's easy enough though. There's a couple of Youtube links I found that display the procedure quite well. The second isn't the same shape as the first, but I think it shows the process a little more clearly.

Yep, I got mine from there too after hearing a couple of BOZ members recommendations.

I love how we all set them up in the house as soon as we get them.

Does this mean it's raining whenever one is delivered, or we get home from work and open the package but it's now too dark to go outside and play with it???

I have used mine in the backyard to photograph parrots. Place it line of sight from the back door so I can sneak directly into it when they turned up. They don't fool Ospreys though.
