    Default Victoria's Riflebird (Ptiloris victoriae)

Recently I had the good fortune to spend a few days up in north Queensland.
I was really after an image of the courtship display of this awesome species, but lucked out... but I was happy to get a decent frame of this hard-to-shoot bird!
In the rainforest, the plumage appears jet-black, but it actually has an iridescent quality.
    Thanks for looking, Greg.

I am so I have been listening to Paradise Rifle birds for ages but can only see the female, would love to know where you found this one.
    Fantastic photo, Congratulations.

Great photograph. My eyes go straight to those iridescent metallic colours.

Oh my goodness; look at those colors what a stunning bird. Perfectly in the clear - even the tail. Dunno how you managed that, but gee it is a great result.

Superb image Greg. I can't recall seeing a better image of this species. Beautifully presented.

Yeah, not bad I guess- shame you didn't get the courtship - better luck next time

I missed seeing one when in Queensland, but if I ever get a chance to get a pic I would be wrapped to get one half as good as this one. Top shelf..
The voices in my head may not be real, but they come up with some great ideas..

    Cheers Rev.
