Default WEEKLY THEME GALLERY 3/6/12 "THE FACEBOOK GENERATION"

This is my first week 'doing' the weekly theme galary. I'm looking for images of young or immature birds.
Any ideas for a weekly theme would be appreciated.

This bird looks like a juvenile to me, of the black-browed kind, but I really don't know much about albatri. Would like confirmation. Shot off Eden in March 2011 in very overcast drizzling conditions.

    Pallid Cuckoo, Cuculus pallidus
    04/06/2012.
    West Cape Howe, WA.
    1DmkIV, 300 2.8 IS, 1.4X TC.
    ISO400, f/5.0, 1/2000, AV, +2/3 EV, flash and beamer.

Streaked/mottled neck and head, back and wing toothings of an immature bird. Probably close to being a breeder, even though it hasn't turned grey yet (according to Pizzey and Knight).

    cheers,

    Tony

ID:	18834I thought I would post this Masked Lapwing into here , but thinking about it, this thread should be full of captive birds, stuck inside all the time, as that's what the Facebook Generation is doing!!!

Default Pacific Black Duck (Anas superciliosa)

Visiting the Japanese Garden at Cowra in early May we were a bit surprised to see about 4 very young ducklings pretty much on their own, with parents a long way off begging for food. It seemed perilously close to winter to be having such young chicks.

Juvenile White Bellied Sea Eagles at 'play' I'd assume although a few feathers were shed. Taken a week or so ago, saw similar behaviour today albeit distant.
