Default Canon 7D jammed button than selects Movie/Still. any idea how to fre it?

Took 3 still images and camera working normal.
Later tried to take images of an Anhinga or Darter and camera was behaving as on Live View. Checking I saw the switch was on Movie and would not move back to Camera setting. The camera was not dropped and I suspect I accidentally changed it to Movie. As I didn't have a manual in the field I waited in case there was a way you could Lock it on Movie I can't see any mention of being able to lock it on Movie. I can't fathom out what has happened. So I have a camera that will only take Movies !! Can't free it !
Anyone had this happen or any ideas how to solve my problem, please?

I don't have this camera but I downloaded the 7D manual. Can't find anything apart from the following possibilities:

    1. The lock button below the large wheel is locked and preventing the movement of the video/stills switch unlikely) or

    2. The start/stop button may be partially depressed and therefore limiting the movement of the video/stills switch.

Sorry I can't offer more than these guesses, mate. Hope it's nothing serious.
    Cheers,

    George

Thanks, George !! Tried both those and at Geoff Gates suggestion fiddled with that on/off button. At a loss of what the cause is. Wondered about http://www.justanswer.com/ anyone with experience about that website?
