Default Glossy Ibis ( Plegadis falcinellus)

WTP, Vic. 08/05/12. Taken whilst showing Scotty & two other photog friends around the "Poo farm". A species that is not posted often so I thought I'd put up a shot.
This individual has been hanging around the WTP for a few months now.

    7D, 300mm + 2.0 TC, tripod, ISO 800, f/8.0, 1/500, +1 2/3 EC in camera & lowered in post.
    NR & sharpen.

Beautiful light and colours. A most attractive Ibis, and you've presented it well.

Wonderful shot Geoff. I still need this species. Was it in the Walsh lagoons or the Paradise Road lagoons?

Pose, detail and comp all look great. Angle of bird to light is ideal because it shows the irid. wings well. Nice work, mate.
    Cheers,

Very nice Geoff. I saw my first bird last year and they sure are a speckie colour. Well done.
The voices in my head may not be real, but they come up with some great ideas..

    Cheers Rev.

I went out this morning to try and emulate your results but failed miserably! I'd forgotten just how flighty this birds are! I think i need a hide or something...

Great shot of a difficult species!
