    Default Composition

    Dear members

Composition is not on of my strong points. This will be my third year specializing in flight photography. I would be curious to know how you would have cropped this photo considering the ugly wire platform below this osprey nest.

    Best regards

    Trevor

Sorry for the misspelt heading folks ! I'm still trying to navigate around this forum properly.

I don't mind the wide crop considering the wings are spread etc. The only thing I find myself wanting to do, is shifting the whole thing ever so slightly to the left so that the bird's faces aren't so central, plus since the front bird is looking to the right, the block of sky on the left feels a little like dead space.

I reckon the best thing to do if you would like thoughts on composition is to post the original full frame image. That lets people know what you have to work with.
I'm with Bec - i would push it off centre a little and also add some more space back in above to balance the amount of space on the sides.
    Cheers, Dave

I think it works well as is. The width of the crop echoes the width of the wings and gives them room/air for lift. The fact that the nest is slightly over to the left balances it for me.

I can see it framed and hanging on a wall as a piece of art.

    Nice one
