Woohoo, awsome specs, i hope Santa is feeling very generous this year Will be interesting to see what price it hits our shelves at with the dollar so high. Realistically i'll be looking about mid next year at this body, hopefully any bugs should be out by then.

Sorry Dan - no CPS discount mate. Plus i have to buy from Aus not US. Still worth it for me though.
I reckon it will be january before the first ones trickle through. I think I'm second on the list at L&P but who knows when we will really get them. Cost will certainly be interesting if they're saying US$5K. I certainly don't think they can keep the RRP at $6500 like it is now with the exchange rates etc.
AF looks awesome which is what they need. I hope they can match the quality i've seen of the Nikon at 12800 iSO.
    Cheers, Dave

You already have one on order
AF looks insane, lets hope it works!! Looking at the specs it has some nice new featues, but i'm a little confused at why some of the new things released in the 7D weren't put into this camera. The sample images at ISOP3200 look very clean indeed (like 800 on the 40D) so hopefully the higher ISO's a re nice as well.

Oh, that makes me really really want one!! Sadly, I think it will really be aaages before I get one. A 500 f4 is higher on the priority list, and that will take about 20,000 years to get in the first place, so that doesn't leave much time for me to get a EOS1!! Oh well, I hope for your guys sake the focusing is a lot better than what the 40D has. Sounds pretty good though.

Not yet Dave, i'm looking, i don't know how well we can trust the sample images anyway, but it does look impressive.

They were having a 50 year anniversary for Canon SLRs apparently! Sounds like the perfect time for a new camera announcement!

Still waiting for DP Review to have some sample images

Tobias it took me till mid 30s to get a 500mm so you've still got plenty of time

Some high ISO samples, not great examples, but it's the best i've seen so far, if you click all sizes you can see them large.

Even 12,800 usable in these shots.
