Default Strange thing happeniing on 40D

When I take a normal landscape oriented photo it appears as a portrait orientation when I review and download? Only started this morning. Have I pushed a button to change it? I have reset the camera and removed both batteries and it still happens. Any ideas apart from sending it to canon for a few weeks?

    Thanks
    Lucky

Have you taken the lens off to check that the sensor has not accidentally rotated 90 degrees?

I'll try to have a look at mine later Lucky and see if i can see anything. I'm sure there is a "rotate" setting in there.

    That's a joke right Tony???

As Dave said, there should be a function in the camera menu to amend this.

I can rotate an image back around but the next ones keep pumping out in portrait. I have reset the camera to factory default again and changed lenses and still no difference. At least it's still taking photos.

Could be a malfunction with the cameras orientation sensor but a quick google search shows no mention of any errors with it so not sure

There is a menu item to do the opposite of whats happening to you, ie show portrait as landscape, but there was nothing in the manual that would create whats happening to yours now. Sorry can't be of more assistance.
    Kind regards Trevor.
