That's sick mate! I just need at least 10 grand to fork out for sure (and a new wife). 12fps..... OMG!! Full frame? OMG.... If it has a 3 second buffer then I'll buy one in six, seven years.

Mate, read my second sentence. 10k, new wife.... bigger destruction than that caused by the Enola Gay.

They are saying $6,800 US, but no doubt will be much higher in Australia. I actually don't mind the 1.3x of the 1DIV for birding, but the 1DX is a wow of a camera! I think I'd rather the new 600 f/4 II first, though. Lens are a lot longer investment

Hopefully around $8K but too early to call pricing for sure in Aus for a while.

Can't wait for used 1D Mk4's to drop in price because of it
I came awfully close to buying a used 1d Mk3 on ebay today for $2350 but I hit the panic button just in time, and let someone else buy it.

Tony, relax mate, a camera's just a dark box with a sensor in it. You could take as good a shot with a 1D as with a 1DXXX. It's about using what you have. Great to have bells and whistles to be honest IMO, but all you really need is a shutter button and a sensor, with a good lens of course.

love all the hype on this body all ready on other sites but it might have bells and whistles but it has dropped being able to mount a lens with a 5.6f with a extender 1.4 or a f4 lens with a 2x extender in other words its dropped the stop from being able to af from the f8 on a pro body to 5.6f like on a 7d hope that made sense

..is that why you bought a 1D rather than keeping the 30D ?

I didn't buy anything yet but I still think it will be a 7D.
This review convinced me to get a 7D instead of a 1D Mk3.
