    Welcome Swallow Scratch - (hirundo neoxena). A swallow enjoying the morning sun and having a preen/scratch too. Saturday 31/7 at WTP, Werribee before heading to the crake area. Canon 5D, 500mm lens and 1.4 teleconverter resting on car window on a beautiful winter morning.

    Spotted Pardalote (Pardalotus punctatus) having a vigorous scratch at Woodlands Historic Park last year. Canon 5D, 500mm lens and tripod. It was a very dull afternoon light-wise. Cropped and sharpened, and a twig cloned.

    Default Wompoo Fruit-Dove

    Not that common around Townsville, this one is maybe a bird forced south after cyclone Yasi and has found enough food to stay. taken in my backgarden a couple of weeks back. 2pm, sun almost directly behind bird.

    Scratching Swift Parrot (Lathamus discolour). At the You Yangs, 29/4. ISO 640, 1/1250 @ f7.1. Needed a high shutter speed as it was a bit windy. Canon 5D, 500mm lens & 1.4 teleconverter on tripod.
