Once thought to be extinct, a photo of the endangered Bridled Nailtail Wallaby. Picture taken at AWC’s Scotia Sanctuary in outback NSW on my last road trip. That is a female with pouch young, you cannot see her bulging pouch.
The Sanctuary now has a population of about 2,800 Bridled Nailtails due to a successful breeding program (the feral proof fence helps), or 80% of the total population.

Crossed the Simpson Desert on the same trip. The flight over Lake Eyre, Anna Creek Station and the Painted Hills (not the Painted Desert) was spectacular. Some of the most amazing textures, colours and scenery I've ever seen. Some pictures here and here.
Head out again next week. Flinders Ranges, Wilpenna Pound and surrounds.
